Center of Traditional Arts,which is located at Yi-lan,introduces some of Taiwan's traditional arts like Taiwanese operas,puppet shows and some old crafts like the paintings on the doors or beds.

攝影活動 Photographic competition

On Sunday afternoon,there are always photographic competitions held throughtout Taiwan,And of course the objects of the shootings are models.Every photographer carries a bag of equippment full of expensive cameras and lenses varying from Canon EOS,Nikon to Pentax,not to mention Leica,Hasselblad or Rolliflex.Occasionally there comes a burst of laughter.That's really a joyful Sunday afternoon.

Hualien Liyu Lake 花蓮鯉魚潭

I have been to Hualien many times,but for the first time my itinerary includes Liyu Lake or Carp Lake. I don't know why it is so called.Maybe because it looks like a carp or someone found a gigantic carp in the lake like the monster in Nice.In the Orient,we always have a tale or a legend attached to every thing.

田尾公路花園 Highway Garden at Tienwei

Tienwei Highway Garden is located at Tienwei Township,in Changhua County.The garden,actually a group of flower farmers,provides half the island with beautiful flowers.On the weekends,many visitors ride the tricycles they rent to view the gorgeous world of flora.

戀戀霧社情 Missing the old Wuh-sheh

Look!The azure sky of Wuh-sheh.

I first visited Wuh-sheh in Nantou County when I was a junior high school student.It was a typical indigenous town.The Japanese temple on the hill,the broad bed,and the campus of Jen-ai Agricultural School all attracted me so much.Later,when I grew up and have my own family,I often take them there.I would admit that I go there not because I love Wuh-sheh more but because I go there with strong nostalgia for a lost indigenous aura.

When summer comes,many people begin to gather at the pond of lotuses with different kinds of cameras.In Taiwan,taking pics of lotuses has become an annual activity.The color of the flowers resembles so much of women's cheeks while the green leaves give them the best clothes.

Southernmost convenience store of Taiwan 台灣最南端的商店

The pic shows the southernmost convenience store of Taiwan.It is located in Urrunbe Park at Kenting.Right below the cliff is the strait between Taiwan and Phillipines.

Dialogue between the tea farmers

The pics show some farmers more than 50 years plucking the new leaves of tea.Their dialogues include "How is your backache? Getting any better?" or "Have your children sent you some money from the cities?"

Beautiful Aletheia University (Tamsui,Taipei)

With beautiful sunset over the river and Mt.Guang-in across the river and classical church,Aletheia University has the very reason to boast of its peculiar scenery.My university is not far from Aletheia and I used to take a walk along the shady road before Aletheia and view the fantastic sight of pigions flying in the sunset.
